We have noticed an increasing number of Volkswagen Group vehicles with all-wheel drive modules needing sensor replacements. Unfortunately, some garages have experienced significant time and cost expenses and, in the worst cases, have had to replace the entire unit.
The issue is caused by incorrect procedures being followed during sensor replacements. However, in most cases, we can fix the problem. But, this relies on the garage's ability to read the hexadecimal codes punched into the unit casing, which can be challenging due to corrosion. These codes consist of two sets of four digits (letters and numbers), and if they cannot be read or entered accurately, the replacement procedure will fail, and a new unit will be necessary.
