OSCA Meet the team Micheal

OSCA is a growing team of specialists dedicated to remote diagnostics and assisting you as our customers. Spontaneous at heart, Michael shares that the variety of tasks assigned to him makes his role refreshing and enjoyable. Speaking of spontaneity, don't miss out on hearing all about Michael having to unexpectedly camp out in his friend’s basement in Canada by reading more below.

What is your role here at OSCA?

Remote Diagnostic Technician, Mercedes-Benz specialist.

What is your background?

My first job was working in a pub behind the bar. A year after that, I was a supervisor, and then I went on to manage two pubs over the next four years or so before starting work at OSCA. I have always been good with computers and technology since before even starting secondary school, so going into a job with OSCA that's entirely based on technology and computers was the logical decision.

What is your favourite part of working for OSCA?

The challenges it provides! Many of my previous jobs have been easy and can get boring quickly. The best part of working at OSCA is when a customer has been working for hours or even days to get a car's engine running. I work on piecing the puzzle together and help get the car started for them. It's satisfying!

Can you tell us about a funny moment from your time here?

Definitely secret Santa my first Christmas here. I had only been at OSCA for a few months and didn't know the team too well. So, seeing Anthony get a bottle of Heinz ketchup from Donna and him actually being excited about it, was so funny!

And finally, can you give us 3 fun facts about yourself?

  1. I love travelling, so I decided one day to get on a plane to Canada for a week. Then I got Covid while I was in Canada and missed my flight home, so I was stuck quarantining in a friend's basement for an extra few days and had to pay for another plane ticket just to get home
  2. I decided in the moment at Download festival that I wanted to get a tattoo. So, I waited in line for 2 and a half hours to get my first tattoo in a tent covered in mud
  3. I can't stand sand at all and will avoid beaches like the plague if I can help it

Our team is the foundation of everything we do at OSCA. Each of our team members are crucial to OSCA so we can continue to provide high-quality remote diagnostics to our wonderful customers. Michael clearly loves living life slightly on the edge by getting mud illustrated into his skin and being stuck halfway across the world. Amongst all these crazy stories, there is a man who just wants to get stuck into new automotive diagnostic challenges each day. So, listen out for him next time you connect with our team via the OSCA server!
