As both a learner and a teacher, Martin has gained insight into the ever-growing nature of the remote diagnostics world. What is your role here at OSCA?
Remote Diagnostic Technician, resident old man.
What is your background?
I passed my City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Craft studies in 1982. I have been in the motor trade most of my working life, starting as an apprentice at Jaguar and Rover. Since then, I have been an AA patrolman, run my own business, been an apprentice trainer at VAG, and taught motor vehicles at a local academy. Before working for OSCA, I was a technical advisor for BCA.
What is your favourite part of working for OSCA?
I work with a great team and enjoy the challenge of the varied issues our customers bring to us. I enjoy passing my knowledge on to the new team members to help them progress. It is also great meeting our customers at trade shows!
Can you tell us about a funny moment from your time here?
There have been so many funny moments over the years. Mike watering Paul's tomatoes as we took a picture—you have to see it!
And finally, can you give us 3 fun facts about yourself?
- I like gadgets and have my drone license
- I try to do things that my body is getting too old to do
- I have never been on a plane or been further than France for a day
